Emanating from a residency at The art Vault, Mildura and various trips around rural australia, Kate Dorrough’s latest body of work is a unique interaction of painting and larger-scale ceramics. a mediation on totemic symbols of the landscape and its potent life force. “The inland river is a potent historical emblem and a source of survival. With its cyclical nature of destruction and renewal, the river traverses the landscape, its journey a metaphor for forces beyond one’s control, a reminder of the resilience and fortitude needed in the challenges of life itself.” - Kate Dorrough
