BELINDA FOX AT GEMEENTEMUSEUM IN DEN HAAG, NETHERLANDS

With 160,000 works of art, the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag is one of Europe’s biggest art museums. It has a leading collection of modern and contemporary art, fashion and decorative arts. The museum current exhibition, Op de vriendschap! (roughly translated as On Friendship!) features 16th /17th glass Dutch glass and engraving techniques that celebrate ritual and community. Curator Suzanne Lambooy invited Arthouse Gallery's own Belinda Fox to present her recent explorations into engraved glass. These incredible pieces were created in collaboration with the master glass blowers at the Glaslab at the National Glas Museum in Leerdam. These works are a direct response to the leaked case files exposing Australian human rights abuses on Naru towards asylum seekers. The works aim to bring greater awareness to these atrocities and to offer a voice for those who feel ‘invisible’. More here!

Gemeentemuseum in Den Haag, Netherlands has produced an incredible video which follows the creation of Belinda's work, 6 Letters, on display 29 September 2018 – 3 February 2019.
