HOBIE PORTER AT TWEED REGIONAL

Hobie Porter’s landscape painting, Transubstantiation, has been generously published in the Tweed Regional Gallery’s recent exhibition catalogue, Three Decades. This show celebrates the gallery’s public collection to mark the occasion of its 30th birthday. The catalogue essay was written by Dr Sarah Engledow, Curator & Historian, National Portrait Gallery. Dr Engledow writes “…in Hobie Porter’s Transubstantiation 2008 the trees and shadows are crisp, each cloud and each leaf are sharply delineated.”

As part of the celebrations in the month of September, The Tweed Regional Gallery invited Porter to run a plein-air mentorship on a Sunday afternoon, where artists set up as colleagues and worked together painting the light and atmosphere of the surrounding Tweed Valley.
