Jo Bertini’s vision of the New Mexico desert where she lives and works crackles with colour and a dazzling intensity of life – a celebration of the flora, fauna and geology of an extraordinary region. As she tells Richard Morecroft, her immersion in the landscape – partly by choice, partly through COVID restrictions – has been almost unbroken for many months, leading to a clarity of vision and an appreciation for the complex detail of the surrounding ecology and its indigenous history.
