TATTERSALL'S ART PRIZE
Congratulations to Robyn Sweaney, Aaron Kinnane and Michaye Boulter for being selected as finalists in this year's prestigious Tattersall's Club Landscape Art Prize!
Robyn Sweaney's work Pilgrimage was awarded Highly Commended by the judges, who praised Robyn for her 'keen observational skills' and 'forensic eye', noting:
'Robyn Sweaney’s very realistic representation is a far more testing and demanding painting than first meets the eye [...] On the front porch, with its fake leopard-skin-covered couch, there (if you look carefully) reveals another landscape beyond and behind the viewer that is reflected in the house’s front window. A very clever and skilful yet touching painting by Robyn that rewards those who look closer, and it questions our most precious of Australian dreams.'
