Jo Bertini featured in exciting new group show 'Curlew Camp'

Mosman Art Gallery

Jo Bertini is currently featured in an incredible new group exhibition, 'Curlew Camp' at Mosman Art Gallery.

The Curlew Camp was an artist' camp founded in the late 1800s, with artists Arthur Streeton, Tom Roberts and various others travelling to Little Sirius Cove in Sydney to paint the landscape en plein air. The works created during this time were ground-breaking for Australian landscape art, and what was considered a new 'Australian style'.

This new exhibition at Mosman Art Gallery aims to celebrate this history, but also reframe it within a contemporary lens offering new perspectives. Each artist was commissioned to make new work exploring the history of the artist camp, contributions to Australian art history and the landscape of Sirius Cove.

Jo Bertini has three incredible landscape paintings in this exhibition, as well as two beautiful portraits of Ethel Carrick Fox and Hilda Rix Nicholas . Exhibiting with Bertini are some acclaimed and brilliant artists including Abdul Abdullah, Khadim Ali, Sophie Cape, Fiona Lowry, John Olsen, Thea Anamara Perkins, Tom Roberts, Marikit Santiago, Arthur Streeton and Imants Tillers.

A fantastic and exciting exhibition, the show runs until August 17 at Mosman Art Gallery and we encourage you to visit!
