Murray Art Museum Albury (MAMA)

Jo Davenport is currently featured in an exciting group show ‘Symbiotic Cultures’ at Murray Art Museum Albury (MAMA) that continues until August 31. The show celebrates and maps connections between an intergenerational group of artists who have been active in the region for over four decades including Mary Jane Griggs, Stephanie Jakovac, Susie Losch, Ken Raff, Cornélia Selover, Shauna Lee Stewart , Olive Street Weavers and Jo Davenport.

Davenport’s stunning work ‘Here’ is a vibrant triptych depicting the natural landscape of the area.

In the history of painting an Altarpiece is a visual focus for prayers and devotion and a place to give thanks.

These three paintings which come together as one are based on the natural landscape where we live. These works express the connection and complexed layering of how our lives are intertwined with the landscape and the natural world that surrounds us.

As humans we have a desire to be near nature and feel the spiritual elements of its presence.  – Jo Davenport, Artist Statement 2025

The show continues until August 31.
