'Holding Ground' is a major new group exhibition curated by Gavin Wilson featuring Jo Davenport alongside artists such as Sophie Cape, Lucy Culliton, Janet Laurence, Euan Macleod, and Idris Murphy. Opening at the acclaimed S.H Ervin Gallery, the exhibition n will reflect how localised landscape values have the potential to open a wiser, urgent discussion on the fate of Mother Earth and our place in it.
Focusing on artwork that depicts the landscapes of New South Wales, the exhibition features paintings, ceramics, sculpture, photography and textiles. The aim of Holding Ground is to compel viewers to re-think and look more closely into the complex makeup of the places they inhabit: places that sustain the fragile web of life.
'Holding Ground' opens on 7 March and continues until 3 May 2026.
