The Museum of Contemporary Art Australia commissions John Prince Siddon

The Musuem of Contempoary Art Australia (MCA)
Sulman prize finalist and acclaimed artist John Prince Siddon has just unveiled his monumental mural at The Museum of Contemporary Art. Commissioned by the gallery, the fifteen metre painting ‘Worra Munga! Ernie and Bert Dreamtime voice’ welcomes visitors at their entrance foyer. An epic and enigmatic work that serves as a call to community to come together; for animals and people, to assist each other in the growth and protection of all things. With his signature motifs of insects, fish, animals and figures from the Dreamtime, as well as pop culture icons Bert, Ernie and the Cookie Monster, the work is dedicated to young people all around the world.

Curated by First Nations Art Curator Rebecca Ray and Assistant Curator Tim Riley Walsh, this iconic work was years in the making. It was unveiled on Wednesday, 23 April, with Prince delivering an artist talk discussing his practice. ‘Worra Munga! Ernie and Bert Dreamtime voice’ is now open at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia in the front foyer and will be on display until 2028
