Belinda Fox has been selected as a finalist in the National Works on Paper Prize for her work ‘Here’s a Scene IV’.
“‘Here’s a Scene IV’, is a drawing based from newsfeed items in 2025. A scene I cannot even fathom being in - yet many conflicts in the world be it - war or natural disasters are making it more common. The resilience and hope the two figures embodied stopped me in my tracks. I am endlessly amazed and confronted by our human capacity for kindness/strength - and cruelty/destruction. And our ability to rebuild lives in the most difficult circumstances. This drawing was a rumination on these thoughts.” — Belinda Fox, Artist Statement
