Jo Bertini has been announced as a finalist in the Mosman Art Prize for her stunning self portrait 'Taken by the Sky'.
Bertini’s paintings traverse well-worn landscapes in an exploration of the true nature of wilderness. Drawing from the traditions of artists on scientific and ecological survey expeditions into the most remote and inaccessible regions, Bertini celebrates her long and intimate engagement with the desert.
The Mosman Art Prize is the longest running and most prestigious municipal art prize in Australia. Winning entries form the basis of the Mosman Art Collection, a valuable and historic collection that surveys Australian painting since 1947.
This years prize will be judged by acclaimed artist Fiona Lowry.
The Mosman Art Prize Exhibition will be on display at Mosman Art Gallery from 23 September - 29 October.
