Naomi Hobson announced as a finalist in Hadley's Art Prize

Hadley's Orient Hotel

Congratulations to Naomi Hobson who has been selected as a finalist in the prestigious Hadley's Art Prize for her stunning work Wuukanta: Life on the River.

Hobson's colourful abstract compositions act as a link between individuality and a shared identity. Her continual inspiration is the vast traditional lands of her ancestors surrounding the town of Coen in Queensland and her culture.

This work encapsulates the narrative cycle of the river, a significant cultural locus and a source of sustenance traversing through generations of  her family.

Hadley's Art prize is an annual acquisitive award for Australian landscape painting. With thirty five finalists selected, the exhibition will be on display until 25 August.
