Congratulations to Jo Davenport who has been announced as the winner of the 2024 Paddington Art Prize for her work 'River Bank'.
“For me painting is an act of reverence, a soft yet enduring enunciation of the profundity of nature and its fortitude in an age of anthropogenic activities. Straddling a midpoint between recognition, of the landscape, and the sensed experience of it. I lead my painting to find the ‘spirit’ of place: specifically the Murray River region where I have lived for many years.” – Davenport
The exhibition of finalists wil be on display at Art Leven in Redfern until Sunday 20 October 2024.
