You can smell the rain in the air, it’s coming. I can here the rain bird calling in the trees down on the river, all through the day and late in the night, he’s calling for that rain and letting us know to get ready for it, the sugar ants are out busy too harvesting, they’re everywhere this time of the year on country, in the house, in your hair and ears, through our clothes, they’re out collecting everything they can to store away during the wet season. The bush turkeys are out as well, raking everything in sight, fallen leaves, and twigs, soil and and grass, they too will need to have their nest ready for that first drop of rain, that’s when they start laying their eggs on the first rain. There is a lot of movement on Country everyone is getting ready for the first rain of the season.
